About this salve
Plantain is probably growing in a crack in your driveway right now. It is the low broad leaf with deep parallel veins running up it, and it has been the go-to for stings and small scrapes across more folk traditions than almost anything else. Putting it in a tin is just making it available in February.
Calendula is the lead. What researchers keep going back to is the triterpenoid fraction, and the faradiol esters in particular, which are the compounds most tied to calming the look of irritated skin. Marshmallow root brings mucilage, the soluble fiber that turns slippery in water and gives the salve its softness. Echinacea is the fourth.
How to use it
Rinse a scrape with plain water first and let it dry, then apply. Not for deep or puncture wounds.

Keeping it
A salve has no water in it, so it needs no preservative and keeps roughly nine to twelve months. Tins are made in small batches and ship close to when they are made.
This is a topical salve for minor scrapes, cuts and bites. It is not a wound treatment, and anything deep, dirty, or not healing belongs with a doctor rather than a tin.
