About this tincture
Valerian and hops have the longest track record of any two plants in an evening formula, and they are the backbone of this one. Star anise, alfalfa, hyssop, clove and peppermint fill it out and soften the taste, which valerian badly needs. Anyone who has smelled the root knows why that matters.
The star anise here is Chinese star anise, Illicium verum, which is the food-safe one. Japanese star anise is a different plant entirely and the two have been confused in supply before, so it is worth naming which is which.
How to use it
Serving size 1 mL. Can be taken directly or mixed into water or juice.
